The Aroma of Fall

The Aroma of Fall

When I think of fall, I can smell it. Warm baking, spices, the crisp air and seasons changing. Personally I love living where we have seasons. Something about the change is revitalizing. I’m also a huge sucker for the holidays. So to say I enjoy the fall might be an understatement. I think what I like the most though is gathering with friends and family.

The trees were blazing with autumn; red and gold and auburn leaves littered the ground like a many-hued carpet that crackled and rustled as they hiked along.— Ben Bova, Return to Mars, 1999

Creating an environment that smells good, is safe and feels cozy is our favorite thing to do with Simmer and Co products. Add Be Cozy simmer mix to your stove top, melt some Be Tranquil wax melts in your bathroom, place a Be Classy simmer medley in your linen drawer and spray some Be Refreshed simmer mist on your couch- all these natural aromas will make your home smell amazing!

Another fun way to enjoy the holidays is with mulled spice and we’re sharing our favorite recipe and ways to use it below!

Mulling Spice Recipe
Cinnamon stick
Ground Nutmeg
Dried Orange Peel
Dried Lemon Peel
1 tablespoon Allspice,
1 tablespoon Cloves
Crystallized Ginger

There are three ways you can enjoy this mulling spice- see below:

Mulled Cider:

Add 8 cups of cider to a pot, add spice mix. Bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer for 20 Minutes. Strain the mix, and serve!

Mulled Wine:

Add 750 ml bottle of red Wine, spice mix and 1/3 cup honey or sugar to a pot. Simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes. Strain the mix and serve!

Mulled Hot Toddy:

Steep tea, remove tea bag. Put tea, sugar or honey and spice mix into a pot. Simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes. Strain the mix, add Bourbon, Whiskey or Spiced Rum and Serve!

Enjoy the season!
